Corona Crisis: Mumbai University Announces Helpline For Counselling Students

Mumbai: Mumbai University on Tuesday, started a helpline number and email service for counselling students who are facing anxiety and pressure due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.The step has been taken on the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as the state higher and technical education.

The phone numbers issued by the authorities are: +91 96190 34634 and +91 93737 00797. Students can call on these numbers between 11 am and 5 pm or they can write to [email protected]. Students of the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) can write to [email protected]. The helpline numbers will try to address each and every query of the students related to examinations and any other anxieties that they may have.

The state university is working on a suitable plan for the current batch students and for the admission of new students. “We will soon declare a faculty-wise programme that will meet the needs of the students,” said the university authorities in a statement.

A committee constituted by the Maharashtra state government’s higher and technical education department to decide the future of semester examinations of universities and colleges has fixed the examination of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG). They will be held from July 1-30.
