COVID-19: Delhi University Defers UG, PG Final Year Exams

New Delhi: The Delhi University (DU) deferred the final year, end semester students’ exams till June 7. The exams were originally scheduled to start from May 15, but in view of rising COVID-19 cases here, the exams were postponed till June.

In an official order on Thursday, the university said that it will soon issue the new date sheet.

“The new date sheets shall be released soon and shall be available on the website of the University of Delhi. The detailed guideline regarding the May/June 2021 examination will be issued in due course of time,” Dean of Examinations, DS Rawat said via a notice.

The exams will be conducted in an open-book, online format. The revised, complete date sheet for final year exams will be uploaded on DU’s exam portal, exam.du.ac.in.

According to Rawat, since there has been a lockdown, people are not coming and the date sheets could not be uploaded in time.

“Today we have uploaded them. As a rule, we have to give students time to prepare. Teachers had been given time till May 13 to prepare and submit question papers and we are pursuing them. Many of them have submitted (question papers),” he was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
