COVID-19 Surge: IIT-Madras, Anna University Defer Exams
Chennai: Chennai-based premier educational institutions, IIT-Madras and Anna University have deferred their semester examinations and even online tests in view of rising COVID-19 cases in the country.
IIT-Madras issued a circular in this regard that said that the revised date of the examinations will be announced at a later date considering the pandemic situation.
The premier institute has deferred the end-semester exams slated to be conducted on May 10 while the Anna University has postponed its online retest scheduled for May 3. Madras University has also called off its examinations.
IIT-Madras had initially planned to hold the January-May semester written examinations from May 10 at the Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Anna university via a press release said that the re-test which was scheduled from May 3 will not take place due to the pandemic.
Madras University which had planned to conduct semester examinations from May 17 has also deferred it.
