HYDERABAD: The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) of the Ministry of Education has released the seat allotment results for the special round for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The special round is meant for filling the vacant seats in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs).

How to check the results

Candidates need to enter their JEE Main 2024 application number, password and security pin to download the CSAB special round seat allotment.

Step 2: Click on the link- CSAB special round allotment list 1

Step 3: On the new page, enter application numbers and password

Step 4: List will appear on the screen

Step 5: Download the list, and take a printout.

According to the notification, the candidates need to pay the college fee by August 7 if they accept the seat. The candidates can then download the allotment letter, provisional admission letter and go for final admission at the institution allotted to them.

The selected candidates will get five options — freeze, slide, float, surrender and withdraw during the special counselling.

What the options mean

Exercising the ‘freeze’ option means the candidates have accepted the allotted programme.

The ‘slide’ option is for those who want to choose a better programme or a branch given vacancies are  available in the allotted institute in the CSAB special round 2. In such cases, the allotted seat will be accepted and will be cancelled only if the candidate gets a better allotment.

Candidates not satisfied with the college, course or program allotted and looking for a better option can exercise ‘float’ option.  In such cases, the allotted seat will be accepted and will be cancelled only if the candidate gets a better allotment in the second round.

Candidates are allowed to ‘withdraw’ the seat until August 8.
