Delhi Govt Plans Reopening Schools In July

New Delhi: The Delhi government has asked all schools to submit a plan for their reopening in July.

The schools will have to submit the framework by June 5, as per a notification by the Directorate of Education (DoE) on Tuesday. The schools will have to devise a “micro-plan” to hold regular and online classes together, it added.

The final decision will be taken by Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

“To initiate this planning process, the facilitators of Cluster Leadership Development Programme shall conduct a session with about 10 heads of schools (HOSs) in their respective clusters in the next fortnight,” the DoE circular said.

Besides, schools will have to furnish details about the smartphone accessibility of each student, availability of students to attend schools in July, the status of infrastructure, number of teachers, and support staff. They will have to access the number of students who can be accommodated in each class to maintain social distancing, it added.

Meanwhile, the school authorities are reaching out to students as well as giving emotional support to those in need.
