Delhi HC Rejects Hearing PIL To Waive Off School Fee
New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has said that it finds no urgency in the plea seeking direction to schools to waive off the fee until the period schools remain closed due to the lockdown.
Advocate and social activist Amit Sahni mentioned the matter before the Registrar on Wednesday. He also uploaded a letter on the High Court link provided by the registry, explaining the urgency of the PIL.
The registry later informed the advocate that his request for urgent hearing of the plea has been rejected.
Seeking direction to schools for waiving off the fee, the plea stated that several parents are facing financial crisis due to the nationwide lockdown and health emergency because of COVID-19.
Besides, the PIL also sought direction to the Delhi government to provide sufficient funds to schools to pay the salary of staff and to bear other expenses
