New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has directed two private schools of South Delhi not to collect any other amount apart from the tuition fee from the students.
A bench headed by Justice Rajiv Shakhder also ordered an investigation into the authenticity of the e-mails allegedly received by the schools asking them to hike school fee.
The court has also asked the schools to charge fee at the rate prior to October 31, 2019.
The schools allegedly hiked the fee and forced the parents to make the payment along with the arrears. Therefore, a plea was filed seeking action against the management as well as to seal its premises.
Meanwhile, the High Court has sought response from the Delhi government, the police and the Department of Education by June 8. It further directed the police not to take any coercive action against the school management till the next date of hearing.
