Delhi University: Fight Of Vice-Chancellors Ends With President Suspending Yogesh Tyagi
New Delhi: The ongoing feud between the Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi and Pro V-C PC Joshi ended with President Ram Nath Kovind suspending Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi.
President Kovind also agreed to launch an enquiry against Tyagi for failing to discharge his duties and responsibilities even after the Education Ministry’s request.
Tyagi has been suspended until further orders to ensure fair inquiry as he may “influence/coerce witnesses and tamper with the material records of the University”, the ministry’s directive stated.
The President is DU’s Visitor and the appointing authority for the Vice-Chancellor’s post.
