New Delhi: Delhi deputy chief minister and education minister, Manish Sisodia launched Delhi Technological University’s ‘Lab on Wheels’ on Tuesday, April 6.
University students will travel in a bus across the national capital to teach government school and underprivileged students under this measure. This is a part of the ‘Education Reaches You’ initiative of the Delhi government.
The customised air-conditioned bus has 17 computers, two televisions, one 3D printer and surveillance cameras.
The deputy chief minister also inaugurated the infrastructure at Pragya Bhawan and DTU’s design department.
According to DTU vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh, the results of the extension and field outreach programme were already visible, and that Sisodia had given the idea to link the university with schools.
As many as 18 government schools have joined hands with DTU to take part in the outreach programme. DTU has adopted five villages — Barwala, Sahibabad Daulatpur, Siraspur, Bhalswa Jahangir Puri and Pahladpur Bangar — under the ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’, Singh said.
