DYSS’s Skiing Courses Begin at Gulmarg
The Department of Youth Services and Sports began its annual training program in skiing today at Gulmarg resort. DYSS is holding the courses this year after a gap of few years gap.
According to an official statement, the first batch of 60 student skiers started their training program today in snow covered valley of Gulmarg under the supervision of Director General of YSS, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman.
The DG expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the training courses, “We have deputed trained officials and skiing instructors of the department for the successful conduct of the camp. The trainers are working under the technical guidance of Olympian Gul Mustafa Dev,” he said.
“We are happy to see our youth showing keen interest in joining these training courses,” he said. He further informed that the department has restarted these courses with a new vigour and commitment after a break of few years.
Dr Rehman said that the department has made best possible arrangements for boarding and lodging of the trainees at the scenic health resort.
The trainees will complete the training course in twelve days. Two more training courses are scheduled after the completion of this program, the DG added.
