Education Minister Announces JEE Main 2021 Dates, Other Details

New Delhi: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 dates were announced on Wednesday by Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal. They are set to begin from February 23 to 26 to be held in four sessions, reported NDTV.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has also made other changes to the engineering admission test, including more regional languages, a new exam pattern, and the option to pick a different city for each session, all of which mentioned in the announcement.

The Minister said the JEE Main 2021 will be held in four sessions, with the first session starting  from February 23 to 26, to ensure that students don’t miss opportunities “due to clash of exams or due to the COVID-19 situation.”

As per the new exam pattern, there will be 90 questions in the JEE Main BTech paper, and each section will be divided into A and B sections, with the former having 20 compulsory questions and negative marking, 10 optional questions with no negative marking in the latter section with candidates having to answer only five questions.

It was also mentioned that candidates registering for multiple sessions will be allowed to change their city of choice in the correction window opening post the first session, and the JEE Main exam will be held in 13 regional languages, starting from 2021.
