Educational Institutions Asked To Continue Online Classes Till May 3
New Delhi: As India entered the second phase of COVID-19 lockdown, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday said that all educational institutions across the country will remain closed till May 3.
However, the Union Government has asked schools and colleges to follow the current academic calendar and continue teaching through online platforms.
According to The Indian Express report, PM Modi has asked the HRD Ministry to roll out a common educational platform for all the students of Class I up to post-graduation during the lockdown.
The government has asked the schools under it to follow lessons on NIOS educational channels, the SWAYAM PRABHA platforms, and educational channels telecasted by private DTH providers.
Meanwhile, the higher educational institutions are conducting classes through live lectures and other online resources.
The central government had announced a nationwide lockdown on March 16 and extended it further till May 3 to break the chain of transmission of the deadly virus.
