Fill Up 69,000 Teachers’ Posts As Per Results Declared In May: Supreme Court Tells UP Govt

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government was allowed by the Supreme Court to fill up 69,000 assistant basic teachers’ vacancies in the state as per the results declared in May.

Justice UU Lalit-headed bench dismissed a batch of petitions, which also included the one filed by the Uttar Pradesh Prathmik Shiksha Mitra Association. The association challenged the Allahabad High Court’s order to uphold the cut off marks for selection of assistant basic teachers in the states.

According to the apex court, it is now open to the state to give another chance to Shiksha Mitra to compete for selection as assistant basic teachers in the state, reported Hindustan Times.

The association had challenged the Uttar Pradesh government’s January 7, 2019 order. The order said the qualifying marks for the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination 2019 were fixed at 65 and 60 for general and reserved categories respectively.
