New Delhi: The 20 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), which were set up under PPP mode, are yet to start dual degree courses, the Parliament was informed on Monday.
Union Minister of Human Resource and Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said only four institutes are offering such courses. The rest 20 can only offer them after the necessary is put in place.
He was replying to a question on whether the IIITs are planning to start dual degree programmes keeping in mind the demand in the job market.
The four IIITs which are offering dual degree courses are Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs).
Dual degree programs are a combination of B. Tech and MS, with the normal course duration being five years.
