Funds Sanctioned By Delhi Government For DU Employees’ Salaries

New Delhi: Over Rs 19 crore was sanctioned by the Delhi government on Monday for salary payment of the staff of four Delhi University colleges, as per an official order, reported Hindustan Times.

In the official order, Deputy Director of Higher Education, Narender Passi said that he was to “convey sanction for release of funds of Rs 19.40 crore and Rs 1.675 crore” for pending salary payment of four Delhi University colleges.

The colleges in question are Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Bhagini Nivedita College, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies and Dr BR Ambedkar College.

However, Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) was not pacified by the decision, criticising the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-government in a statement, for not acknowledging their role in causing college employees to suffer without their salaries “for more than six months”, owing to their “obdurate refusal of grants to these colleges”.
