HYDERABAD: Registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)- 2025 has begun. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is conducting the exams.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 will be conducted on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.
Students can access the GATE brochure at the official website – gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
The registration window was opened on August 28, 2024 and will close on September 26, 2024. The application forms should be submitted online.

Opening Date of GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS): August 28, 2024

GATE 2025 examinations: February 1, 2, 15, 16, 2025
The GATE 2025 will be conducted in two sessions—from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
GATE 2025: How to Submit Your Application
Step 1: Visit the official website – gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
Step 2: Click the GATE 2025 registration link on the webpage
Step 3: Enter the necessary information and upload documents on the newly opened page
Step 4: Pay application fee for GATE 2025
Step 5: Check the information in the form again before submitting it
Step 6: Take a printout of the GATE 2025 application confirmation page for future reference
GATE 2025 fee
The GATE 2025 application fee for female, SC, ST and PwD candidates is Rs. 900 and Rs. 1,800 for all unreserved categories.
According to the brochure, the candidates can download the GATE 2025 admit cards from the official website from January 2.
During the online submission of applications, candidates need to submit one valid government photo ID from the following list.
- Aadhaar-UID (preferred)
- Aadhaar Virtual ID
- Government-issued ID
- Passport
- PAN card
- Voter ID
- Driving licence
The candidates need to carry their original ID proof and the GATE 2025 admit card on the examination day.
GATE 2025 test papers
The GATE 2025 will comprise 30 test papers and candidates are permitted to take one or two papers.
It is necessary to select the two combinations of exam papers from the list provided. Only one application form has to be submitted in case a candidate intends to appear for two papers.
Question pattern
The GATE 2025 will have multiple choice (MCQ), multiple select (MSQ), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. In MCQ, only one of the four options is right. In MSQs, one or more of the four choices are valid while for NAT questions, the answer must be entered via a virtual keypad.
