Govt Invites Application for 2020 Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship
The scholarship is for pursuing master degree in UK
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has invited application for “2020 Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship tenable in United Kingdom. The scholarship will be provided by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), UK to Indian students for pursuing one-year master’s degree courses which will commence in September/October 2020.
As many as 39 applicants would be nominated for the scholarship.
Students will receive the offer letter latest by June 2020. The application portal will remain active till November 15, 2019.
Eligibility:
- The applicant must be a citizen and permanent resident of India.
- The applicant should be available to start his/her academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2020 and should have completed or is expected to complete his/her Bachelor Degree by October 2020.
- Candidates are compulsorily required to sign a declaration that they do not have access to sufficient funds to study in the UK.
- Candidates who have already been abroad for studies/ training/specialisation either on scholarship or on their own, for a period exceeding six months also can apply, provided they have been in India for at least two consecutive years as on date after returning from abroad.

Basis of selection:
Candidates who have received an offer of admission from any participating universities must upload a copy of the same on the Ministry’s portal at the time of online application, failing which candidature will not be considered eligible.
In case there is more number of students than the available nominations, ranking of the University as per the ‘QS Ranking 2020’ would be taken to draw up the merit list. Theme-wise nomination would be made.
