Gujarat Faces Shortfall Of Over 9K Classrooms

Gandhinagar: The government informed the Gujarat Assembly that there was a dearth of more than 9,405 classrooms in different government-run primary schools as on December 2020.

Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said this while replying to queries raised by Congress MLAs during the Question Hour on Monday, reported news agency PTI.

Tribal-dominated Dahod leads the chart with a shortfall of 1,087 classrooms, followed by Banaskantha (662), Anand (596), Bhavnagar (506) and Bharuch (496). There are a total of Of 33 districts in Gujarat.

Chudasama said 286 state-run primary schools were closed in the last two years, and students had been provided admission in nearby schools.
