Lucknow: Ten-year-old Rashtram Aditya Sri Krishna cleared the Uttar Pradesh Board Class X Examinations with flying colours. Aditya was enrolled in Class IX in a school here under a special case in August 2019.
Aditya, turning 11 on October 17, 2021, secured 79 per cent marks overall, reported The Times of India. The wonder boy got 82 in Hindi, 83 in English, 64 in mathematics, 76 in science, 84 in social science and 86 in art.
“He is an extremely bright student and is an inspiration to many of his age and even to senior students,” district inspector of schools, Mukesh Kumar Singh was quoted as saying by the national daily.
Acknowledging his extraordinary merit, UPSEB had granted him special permission to get enrolled in class IX in Lucknow’s MD Shukla Inter College in 2019.
“Aditya is an avid reader, and is quick to grasp any concept. He is thorough with topics and can solve sums even with his eyes closed,” school principal HN Upadhyaya was quoted as saying by The TOI.
“He is also well-versed with yoga and can speak at length on social issues,” the principal added.
Aditya is the second case in which UPSEB allowed a comparatively younger child to sit for class X board examinations.
Another child prodigy, Sushma Verma was also granted permission to enrol in class IX at the age of five. She went on to become India’s youngest matriculate in 2007 when she cleared UP Board exam.
According to board rules, a student must be at least 14 years of age to appear for class X board exams.
