Bengaluru: Isha Singh, a third-year computer science student from Noida, has secured a highly sought-after summer internship at Google for 2025.
After bagging the internship project, Isha went to write about the process on the social media platform ‘X’, which provided significant insight into how to approach the whole thing. She described the experience as a “dream come true.”
The Application Process:
Singh’s journey began in June when she received an invitation from her college’s Training and Placement (TnP) cell to apply for Google’s summer internship program. After filling out the initial application, she attended a virtual career talk hosted by Google. This was followed by a tough online assessment.
“The process started with an online assessment in July, which tested my skills in graphs and dynamic programming,” Singh wrote in ‘X’. After clearing this phase, two technical interviews followed.
How to navigate the Technical Interviews?
The first interview, which lasted for 50 minutes, involved complex questions on data structures and algorithms. “The questions were of medium to hard difficulty,” Singh noted. The second interview, which was 45 minutes long, focused primarily on priority queues, with a follow-up question on the same topic. Both interviews were eliminatory in nature. This means those who clear the first round advance to the second.
According to her, these interviews were intense in nature with tight timeline between the stages. “The interviews were scheduled for the next day with minimal preparation time. Both rounds tested my problem-solving skills extensively,” she said.
Finally, the success:
After going through these gruelling sessions, Singh finally received the good news when her name appeared on the selection list. “Seeing my name on that list was an incredible moment, marking the culmination of intense preparation and hard work,” she shared.
Her posts about the experience shared in ‘X’ got many reviews. It garnered nearly 3,000 likes and 136 comments. While many messages were congratulatory in nature, many also sought advice on how to prepare for such competitive interviews. Singh gracefully engaged with those people and sought advice. She also detailed her story in a Medium blog post.
Singh’s detailed account serves as an inspiration for many, who are aspiring to get internships and jobs at the tech giant.
