HYDERABAD: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has again extended the deadline for the admission to online distance learning and online programmes.
The last date for registration is March 31 except for the certificate and semester courses, the IGNOU said in a notification. Earlier, the last date was March 15.

The candidates need to have a DEB ID for admission. The ID is a unique ID created by the candidates who wants to take admission in any ODL or online programme of any institute. Once created, it remains valid forever.
Candidates can submit online applications by visiting the website, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
How to register IGNOU Admissions 2025
Step 1: Visit the official website, ignouadm.samarth.edu.in
Step 2: Click the ‘New Registration’ link on the homepage
Step 3: Complete registration process by providing the required information
Step 4: After registration, log in with your username and password.
Step 5: Enter academic details and click ‘Submit’
Step 6: Take a printout for reference
Required documents
A scanned passport-sized photograph (less than 100 KB)
A scanned signature (less than 100 KB)
Supporting documents (such as proof of date of birth, mark sheets, degree certificates, caste certificates, income certificates, disability certificates, UGC NET-JRF certificates/UGC NET scorecards, etc.) (less than 500 KB)
Refund policy
The registration fee is non-refundable. However, the programme fee will be refunded under certain circumstances.
If a refund request is made before admission is confirmed, the full programme fee will be refunded
If a refund request is made after admission is confirmed, a refund will be issued after deducting 15% of the programme fee, capped at Rs 2,000
If a student opts for a soft copy of the study material, the fee will be refunded after deducting only the registration fee
BAMSME programme
Meanwhile, the IGNOU has introduced a Bachelor of Arts programme in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (BAMSME). This programme will be offered through the School of Vocational Education and Training. It seeks to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to launch and successfully manage business ventures.
The BAMSME programme, beginning in the January 2025 academic session, is designed to address the evolving needs of young entrepreneurs in India.
With a curriculum spread over three years and worth 120 credits, the programme is for students who have completed their 10+2 education. Delivered in English via the open and distance learning (ODL) mode, the IGNOU programme will offer flexibility and accessibility for learners across India.
