IGNOU Extends Deadline For Fresh Admission And Re-registration For ODL Courses

Candidates can avail of this opportunity until August 15 by visiting the respective official websites

NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline to apply for fresh admission against the July 2025 academic year.

Students willing to apply in the July 2025 session in the online distance learning (ODL) and online programmes can register themselves for the programmes by August 15. The earlier registration deadline was July 31.

The list of programmes provided online is available at the official website, iop.ignouonline.ac.in. Students can apply accordingly.

“Last date for submission of Application to ODL and Online Programmes extended till 15 August 2025,” a social media post of IGNOU said.

How to apply for IGNOU Fresh Admission 2025

Step 1: Visit the official website of IGNOU, ignou.ac.in

Step 2: Go to the Register Online tab and click on it followed by ‘Fresh Admissions’

Step 3: Click on the ‘New Registrations’ tab

Step 4: Fill in the required details

Step 5: Set a ‘Username’ and ‘Password’

Step 6: Fill the required information and submit

Step 7: With the login details received on the email ID and phone number, login using the same and fill in all the details required

Step 8: Select the programme

Step 9: Submit the IGNOU registration form

Scanned Photograph (less than 100 KB)

Scanned Signature (less than 100 KB)

Scanned copy of relevant Educational Qualification (less than 200 KB)

Scanned Copy of Experience Certificate (if any) (less than 200 KB)

Scanned Copy of Category Certificate, if SC/ST/OBC (less than 200 KB)

Eligible students can also apply for government scholarships on the national scholarship portal at scholarships.gov.in after confirmation of admission.

Re-registration deadline for ODL extended

Meanwhile, the IGNOU has also extended the re-registration deadline for all programmes offered in ODL and online mode. The last date for the same is August 15. Interested students can complete their IGNOU re-registration from, onlinerr.ignou.ac.in.

Candidates have the option to cancel their application directly through the registration portal. The cancellation requests should not be submitted via email or through iGRAM.

Once an application is cancelled, it cannot be reinstated, and any eligible refund will be processed following the university’s policies.

How to apply for IGNOU Re-registration 2025

Step 1: Visit the official website, ignou.samarth.edu.in/index.php/site/login.

Step 2: Enter enrollment number and password.

Step 3: The dashboard of the candidate will open and it will have an option of re-registration.

Step 4: Select the link and select courses, and complete the payment.

Step 5: Download the application for reference.
