IGNOU Invites Applications For Nine One-Year Master’s Degree Programmes

NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is currently accepting applications for nine one-year Master’s degree programmes for graduates of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP).

The specially designed programmes offer an accelerated postgraduate pathway aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The deadline for submitting online applications is August 16. Applicants are advised to keep their APAAR ID ready before starting the application process. The programmes offer flexible, learner-centric, and multidisciplinary pathways in higher education.

Eligible students can apply for Government of India scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in after confirmation of admission.

The IGNOU said it has been receiving numerous queries from prospective learners whose applications for fresh admission to the July 2026 Admission Cycle are yet to be confirmed.

The university said that scrutiny of admission applications was underway and that students would be informed about the status of their applications through the admission portal.

The university has advised students to log in to their accounts on the Online Admission Portal regularly to check the status of their applications.

If any discrepancy is found in an application, the student will be notified through the Admission Portal. A discrepancy link will be made available in the student’s account, and the student must resolve the discrepancy by uploading the required information or documents through the portal.

If no discrepancy is found, the admission will be confirmed, and an Enrolment Number will be generated. A confirmation email will also be sent to the student’s registered email address, with their ID card attached.

To apply for one of IGNOU’s one-year MA programmes, you must complete the application online through the official portal ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

Pre-Registration Checklist

• APAAR ID / ABC ID: This is mandatory for academic credit transfer.
• Scanned Photograph & Signature: Less than 100 KB each (JPG/JPEG format).
• Scanned Documents: Age proof, 10th/12th certificates, and your 4-Year FYUP degree/mark sheet (Less than 200 KB each).
• Payment Mode: Net banking, debit card, or credit card.

How to register for IGNOU MA courses

Step 1: Create a new user account by visiting the IGNOU Admission Portal ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in

Step 2: Click on the “Click here for New Registration” button.

Step 3: Fill in your Choose a Username and enter your applicant name exactly as it appears on your academic documents.

Step 4:  Provide a valid email address and mobile number (all future OTPs and login alerts will be sent here).

Step 5:  Choose a secure password, enter the captcha code, and click “Register”.

Step 6:  Check your email or phone for a verification OTP to activate your account.

Step 7:  Log in and fill personal details

Step 8: Navigate to the “Programme” tab and select “Master of Arts” programme.

Step 9: Fill academic qualifications & document upload

Step 10: Pay fee Payment

Step 11:  Save, download the application summary sheet for reference.
