IGNOU Launches MBA Study Materials In Odia Language

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveils IGNOU’s e-GyanKosh and e-KUMBH portals

BHUBANEWAR: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has released MBA study materials in Odia language.

Union Minister of Education Darmendra Pradhan launched the study materials in regional language.  He also unveiled IGNOU’s e-GyanKosh and e-KUMBH portals during the event. The e-GyanKosh portal will host digital study materials, while the e-KUMBH portal will provide access to IGNOU’s online MBA books in Odia.

Odisha Minister of Higher Education, Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Sports and Youth Services Suryabanshi Suraj and Minister of State for Skill Development, Technical Education and Industries Sampad Chandra Swain were present during the event.

The event was organized in the presence of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) chairman Professor TG Sitharam  and IGNOU V-C Professor Uma Kanjilal, and Mrutyunjay Behera, Economic Advisor and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education.

Dharmendra Pradhan lauded the contribution of IGNOU in spreading quality higher education in the nooks and corners of the country and emphasised the importance of higher education in mother tongue and underlined the evolution of thought process in mother tongue as a scientific phenomenon.

Thanking both IGNOU and AICTE for the launching of study materials of technical and professional education in regional languages, he hoped that IGNOU would make endeavours to offer more programmes in the regional languages including Odia.

Professor Nayantara Padhi, Faculty of Management Studies, IGNOU, thanked the experts of the management faculties from Odisha for preparation of the study materials in Odia language.
