IIFT All Set To Set Up Off-shore Campus in Dubai
The Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Education and University Grant Commission (UGC) have conveyed their no objection for the off-shore campus.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) will set up its off-shore campus in India Pavilion at the Expo City in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
A proposal was submitted by the IIFT, seeking permission for setting up the campus in November 2024. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Education and University Grant Commission (UGC) have conveyed their no objection for the off-shore campus.

“The campus will symbolise the India-UAE educational partnership and grow into an important centre for shaping the global business leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
An MoU to this effect was signed on October 2024 by Professor Rakesh Mohan Joshi, Vice Chancellor of IIFT and Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority.
The campus will be a boon for the 3.5 million-strong Indian community residing in the UAE. It will also open doorways for the overseas expansion and recognition of the IIFT brand.
The permissions have been accorded on certain conditions. The IIFT, New Delhi shall obtain the necessary approval including financial liability, if any, from Ministry of Commerce & Industry before starting the campus.
IIFT shall obtain necessary permission from the Government of UAE before starting the campus and comply with all norms and standards of the host country. It will maintain the standards at Dubai Campus similar to its main campus in Delhi .
The admission criteria, curriculum, examination system and evaluation system at Dubai Campus will be similar to its Delhi campus. The IIFT will ensure adequate academic and physical infrastructure facilities for its off-Shore campus in Dubai as per the norms and standards wall prescribed by the UGC.
IIFT is likely to offer short and medium-term training programmes, research and eventually with launch of its flagship programme, MBA (International Business).
