IIIT Faculties To Undergo Periodic Evaluation For Quality Learning Outcomes
New Delhi: The Minister of Human Resource and Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Wednesday chaired the second meeting of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)’s coordination forum.
The forum is the apex body for deciding policy and directions for 20 IIITs established under PPP mode.

#IIITs should focus on programmes such as entrepreneurship development and revising the course curriculum in keeping with technological advances.
#The performance of the faculties will be reviewed periodically to ensure quality learning outcome and positioning the IIITs among the best in the world.
#IIITs to grant notional Higher Administrative Grade scale to the directors recruited for centrally funded Institutes.
#The HRD Minister, who is the chairperson of the forum, was requested in the meeting to make short term arrangement of director in an IIIT in case of vacancy, on a temporary basis.
#IIITs were suggested to actively collaborate with the centrally funded technical institutes including IITs to share and learn about best practices.
#The forum proposed to enhance the budgetary support of each IIIT by Rs 50 Crore towards meeting capital expenditure and Rs 10 crore toward revenue to enable them to meet the increase in cost of material and manpower. The Ministry will examine the proposal, said a statement issued by the Ministry.
