IIM Indore Director Leads Online Counselling Team During Pandemic
New Delhi: The Centre for Conflict Management (CCM), an online platform, is providing guidance and counselling to youths across the country to deal with stress and depression.
CCM is a network of 18 resource persons (top faculties and psychologists of management institutes spread across the country) and 1,200-plus CCM beneficiaries-turned-volunteers mentored by the Director of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore, Prof Himanshu Rai, The New Indian Express reported
.Prof Rai cited the pandemic impact on “the intra and interpersonal psyche of people”, and the stress of youngsters due to “uncertain future and job losses” , as for the reason for the conception of the online platform.
IPS Navniet Sekera,and Mountaineer Arunima Sinha are also part of the project, and hold special online CCM sessions to pep up youth and help them tackle pandemic induced stress.
Ranging from workplace issues to emotional conflicts, more than 1600 cases have been resolved by the CCM through online, private and public sessions for youths in 12 states, and five new international chapters have begun in the last few days by resource persons known to the CCM’s India team in the US, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Australia.
“The international chapters are the first step in understanding the commonality in youngsters’ problems. It is their inner strength aided by a bit of help from us which has done wonders,” says Prof Rai.
