The programme was launched simultaneously from New Delhi, Dhenkanal, and other regional campuses by the Vice Chancellor Pragya Paliwal Gaur.

Addressing faculty members and stakeholders across campuses through an online interaction, Gaur underlined that the newly launched Ph.D. Programme is designed to promote rigorous, multidisciplinary research that responds to contemporary social, technological, and policy-driven challenges in the media and communication landscape.

Highlighting the importance of decentralised research, the Vice Chancellor noted that IIMC’s regional campuses will play a pivotal role in nurturing research grounded in regional realities.

The programme aims to enable scholars to study local issues, generate context-specific insights, and enrich national discourse through diverse socio-cultural perspectives.

The launch ceremony was attended by L. Madhu Nag, Registrar & ADG, all Regional Directors, including Dhenkanal, Prof. Anand Pradhan, and faculty members from New Delhi and all regional campuses.

Welcoming the initiative, Prof. Pradhan expressed happiness at this important academic milestone, noting that the Ph.D. Programme would significantly enhance IIMC’s research ecosystem and academic profile.
