IIT Bhubaneswar, ISRO Sign MoU To Foster Collaborative Research

The partnership focuses on assessing physical and biogeochemical oceanic processes and shoreline change dynamics along the western Bay of Bengal.

BHUBANESWAR: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), through its National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar, has signed an MoU to foster collaborative research and development.

The partnership focuses on assessing physical and biogeochemical oceanic processes and shoreline change dynamics along the western Bay of Bengal.

The pilot phase will involve mapping and analysing nearshore dynamics from the Sundarbans delta to northern Andhra Pradesh, with potential extension to other Indian coastal regions under a future expanded MoU.

The MoU was signed by Dr. S. K. Srivastav (Chief General Manager, Regional Centres of NRSC) representing ISRO and Prof. P. Dinakar (Dean-Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy) representing IIT Bhubaneswar.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. C. N. Bhende (Dean-Post Graduate and Research Programs), Dr. R. K. Singh (Head of the School-School of Earth Ocean and Climate Sciences), collaborators from School of Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences of IIT Bhubaneswar, along with other ISRO officials.
