IIT-Bhubaneswar To Audit Traffic Issues In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has selected IIT Bhubaneswar to bring efficiency in traffic management in the city.

The premier engineering institute will submit its report to the State government in six months, the Commerce and Transport Secretary G Srinivas told media.

The government has decided to conduct a third-party audit with an aim to streamline vehicular traffic and consequently selected IIT Bhubaneswar for the exercise.

Referring to the accident-prone areas in the Odisha capital and on its outskirts, he said the Engineering, Works and Rural Development Department will identify these black spots, following which patrolling will be intensified at these places.

There are 1452 black spots on National Highways passing through the state and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will undertake the repair at these places soon, he added.
