IIT Bombay Tops QS India University Rankings 2020
IIT Bombay has topped the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) India University Rankings for the second time in a row.
According to the 2020 ranking list, the top ten positions are dominated by the IITs. The other three institutes who have made their place in the top 10 are Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (2), University of Delhi (7), University of Hyderabad (8).
The QS top 10 universities in India:
1. IIT Bombay
2. IISc Bangalore
3. IIT Delhi
4. IIT Madras
5. IIT Kharagpur
6. IIT Kanpur
7. University of Delhi
8. University of Hyderabad
9. IIT Roorkee
10.IIT Guwahati
This is the second year when the British higher education analysts QS has ranked the top 100 higher education institutions in India.
The ranking list has been prepared based on eight parameters. They are:
Academic reputation (30 per cent)
Employer reputation (20 per cent)
Faculty-student ratio (20 per cent)
Staff with PhD (10 per cent)
Papers per faculty (10 per cent)
Citation per paper (5 per cent)
International faculty (2.5 per cent)
International students (2.5 per cent).
