Varanasi: The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar director, Sudhir Kumar Jain has been appointed as the new Banaras Hindu University (BHU) vice-chancellor.
The Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education shot a letter regarding the appointment to the BHU, according to a BHU spokesperson.
Prof. Jain succeeds Prof. Vijay Kumar Shukla as the vice-chancellor of the BHU.
Padma Shri awardee Professor Jain will be in the office for three years from the day he takes charge of BHU, as per the rules.
