HYDERABAD: IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has teamed up with BodhBridge Education, an organisation founded by alumni of IIT Madras, to provide career counselling certification training for school teachers.
This programme, being offered free of cost, aims at enable teachers understand the strengths, weaknesses, and interests of students.
This initiative aims to empower teachers across the country by equipping them with essential career guidance skills.
The initiative is targeting to cover 10,000 teachers across 5,000 schools across India in the next three months. The first batch of training commences on December 14, 2024 and the last date to register is December 12, 2024.
This programme is open for teachers, principals, educators, and counsellors.
“Our goal is to make a meaningful impact by enabling teachers to serve as effective career counsellors within their schools. By providing this training free of cost, we are committed to creating accessible pathways for teachers to develop skills that can shape the futures of students,” said Balamurali Shankar, Chief Knowledge Officer, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation.
Career counselling certification is a perfect opportunity for every teacher to develop the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to become a career counsellor, he said.
The participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the current educational landscape and the various career pathways available for students. Certification will be provided to the participants based on their performance in the post-training assessment.
Course curriculum
The training programme includes modules on career guidance essentials, assessment techniques, and career counselling skills tailored for school environments.
