New Delhi: As many as 223 job offers have been received by the students of the 2020-21 batch of the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT-Patna). Last year, the institute had received 202 offers despite the raging COVID-19 pandemic.
According to an IIT-Patna statement, the number of offers in this session is the highest. The internship season is still underway and the numbers are expected to rise further, the statement added.
The highest package offered to the students is Rs 54.57 lakh per annum and Rs 52.50 lakh per annum for BTech and MTech students respectively. The information technology (IT) sector had maximum offers for the students followed by the core sector, the statement said. The jobs were provided mainly in the areas of software engineering, technology consulting, analytics, research and development, graduate engineering trainee, data engineering, and associate engineering.
Several companies have also absorbed the interns as full-time employees. There was a 45 percent rise in internship offers, or pre-placement offers (PPOs). Recruiters for internships included DE Shaw, Codenation, Google India, Commvault, Goldman Sachs,Intel, iRage Capital, Newzera, Samsung Bangalore and Media.net.
