IIT Roorkee Researcher Bags Rs 1 Crore Grant In UK
Dehradun: A post-doctoral research fellow from IIT Roorkee, Dr Sudha Shanakr, has bagged a research grant of Rs 1 crore in the United Kingdom, the Ministry of Education tweeted on Thursday.
Dr Shankar will research on antimicrobial peptide drugs and it will be broadly related to the cure of COVID-19, the tweet added.

Dr Shankar, who is a student at the institute’s Department of Biotech, is one of the few students to be awarded the Newton International Fellowship.
The fellowship, which will start from March 2021, will allow her to conduct research for a period of three years, including two years at the University of Glasgow, UK, The Times of India reported.
