IIT-Tirupati Students Develop Game To Spread Awareness About COVID-19
New Delhi: Making the most of the lockdown period, two students from IIT-Tirupati have developed a game named ‘COVID-19 Survivor’ to spread awareness about the deadly virus.
The novel game is set in a city where a player has to step out of his house to buy groceries and medicines, while observing the social distancing norms, the Indian Express reported.
The player has to dodge COVID-19 infected people and objects outside their house. They also have to collect personal protective equipment, including masks and sanitisers in the game.
If infected with the virus, the player will be hospitalised or killed within the game.
The two students who have created this innovative game, are Dheeraj Vagavolu and Akhila Sri Manasa Venigalla.
Dheeraj is a third-year BTech student and Akhila is pursuing PhD from IIT-Tirupati.
The students were guided by academician Sridhar Chimalakonda for creating this game.
The game is available as both mobile app and web version.
The game was created in just three days at the Research in Intelligent Software & Human Analytics (RISHA) lab of IIT-Tirupati.
