Ayodhya: Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have been asked by the Ram temple trust to suggest better models for the foundation of the temple structure as a stream of the Sarayu river has been flowing underneath it, news agency PTI said quoting sources on Tuesday.
Sources said that the deliberations over the matter took place in a meeting of the construction committee of the temple, chaired by former principal secretary to the prime minister Nripendra Misra.
Following the deliberations, it was found that retaining the existing model for the foundation of the structure was not possible due to the stream flowing underneath it.
According to the agency, the ‘Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teertha Kshetra’ trust said that the IITs have been requested to suggest better models for a strong foundation of the temple. The Ram temple is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
