India Post Proposes A Chapter On Philately In School Textbook
India Post has proposed the state education boards to introduce philately as a subject in the school curriculum to develop interest among students about the collection and study of postage stamps.
According to news reports, additional director-general of the Department of Posts Vishva Pavan Pati has said that they were looking at innovative ways to attract students towards philately.
He said introducing chapters in the school curriculum is one of the initiatives that can attract students towards the discipline.
Pati said that they have suggested the education boards to introduce philately for students from class VI to IX. The CBSE has already introduced a chapter on the subject in the political science textbook.
