NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur has become the first IIM to have a chapter of the National Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN).
The initiative, which was announced in New Delhi, aims to create a landscape for human resource development and thought leadership in India by providing a platform with 20,000 active members including senior HR professionals, academicians and students to facilitate thought-provoking discussions, promote the best practices, and undertake projects that will shape the future of HR practices in the country.
Among the prominent professional organisations in the field of human resources, the NHRDN has played a pivotal role in shaping HR practices and policies across industries.
This will be NHRDN’s overall 52nd Chapter including three international chapters in Singapore, Middle East, Nepal and nine student chapters, further underscoring its expansive reach and influence.
Through this collaboration, IIM Sambalpur aims to bring together the expertise of the HR community with the academic rigour and research-driven approach of a premier management institute.
Speaking on the occasion, IIM Sambalpur Director Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal said, “In alignment with our core values to contribute to the development of future-ready HR leaders, our collaboration with the National HRD Network brings the expertise of the HR community. Through this chapter, we are organising cutting-edge programmes designed to develop visionary leaders equipped with contemporary HR strategies and by promoting collaborative research that bridges academic insights with real-world applications in HR.”
“Our goal is to create a dynamic interface for industry experts and students to collaborate and innovate as well as to host workshops, seminars, and networking events to enhance skills and expand professional connections,” he said.
The programme endeavors to advance the theoretical and practical dimensions of Human Resource Development (HRD) by promoting a comprehensive understanding of its philosophy, processes, and applications through rigourous research, exploration, and continuous knowledge acquisition.
It aims to disseminate advanced HRD knowledge among professionals and practitioners, facilitating the exchange of insights and experiences to strengthen the field.
Established over 36 years ago, NHRDN is autonomous, not-for-profit professionally managed organisation, playing a catalyst role in grooming the leaders for tomorrow. It has over 20000 members.
