Institutions Asked To Honour Swami Vivekananda’s Teachings On National Youth Day

New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has ordered educational institutions to honour Swami Vivekananda’s work and celebrate the National Youth Day 2021 by drawing inspiration from his teachings.

National Youth Day is celebrated on January 12 each year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the spiritual leader.

The UGC dashed a letter to all vice-chancellors and principals and asked them to organise webinars and lectures on the teachings of the great thinker. Other events like creative writing, essay writing, poetry recitation and debate competitions should also be organised, the letter said.

The higher education’s regulatory body also encouraged institutes to share Vivekananda’s teachings through social media. They have been asked to present all activities undertaken on the University Activity Monitoring Portal, reported ABP Education.
