New Delhi: The National Statistical Office (NSO) survey report stated that Kerela with 96.2 per cent literacy has once again emerged the most literate state of India, while Andhra Pradesh with 66.4 per cent stood at the bottom.
Odisha is at the 12th position with 77.3 per cent literacy.
The report on ‘Household Social Consumption: Education in India as part of the 75th round of National Sample Survey from July 2017 to June 2018’ which presents the details of the literacy rate of all states in India.

The urban India literacy rate stands at 87.7 percent while the rural India literacy rate is 73.5 percent. Also, the all India literacy rate (Rural and Urban combined) is 77.7 percent. The male literacy rate in the nation is 84.7 percent while the women literacy rate stands at 70.3 percent.
