Is Technology A Boon Or Bane? Technical Guruji Shares Tips With Students At Pariksha Pe Charcha
Highlighting that teachers are irreplaceable guides and will remain so, Gaurav Chaudhary and Radhika Gupta share the best ways students can use AI in academic pursuit
NEW DELHI: Can we use Artificial Intelligence (AI) be used mor efficiently? Is AI technology hindering our creativity in some ways? Such questions were asked during the third episode of the eighth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 as Gaurav Chaudhary, popularly known as Technical Guruji, and Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, took over the session.
Both shared amazing insights about the use of AI and how it is impacting the lives of people with the participants of the session.
With the CBSE board exams set to begin on February 15, many students are worried about the exams and the Pariksha Pe Charcha, the popular initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, came to rescue of the students by addressing their concerns related to examinations.
This year, a series of episodes are being conducted for students, with several noted personalities jopining the initiative to share their experiences and expertise.
AI tool
Sharing his views on the potential of AI, Technical Guruji emphasised AI’s role as an assistant rather than a replacement. He illustrated how AI is benefitting education by generating multiple perspectives on historical events for students.
“However, teachers will remain irreplaceable guides and mentors,” he said.
In the episode, an engaging challenge was introduced where participants were asked to create a digital sketch of former President of India and scientist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam using AI prompts without mentoring his name. The activity highlighted how technology can blend creativity with innovation.
Critical thinking
Discussing the use of technology and how it is reshaping our lives, Radhika Gupta recalled how people used to remember landline numbers, a practice that has become obsolete now.
“There is no doubt technology has simplified tasks. But it might be eroding critical thinking skills and inventiveness,” she said and recalled the era when human memory was more reliable and it was feared that overreliance on technology might affect mental agility.

The session concluded with a powerful message: technology should be a tool for empowerment, not dependency.
The audience was encouraged to find a balance, use technology wisely, and embrace both learning and leisure in academic pursuits.
