Jadavpur University Opens Admission Window For Master’s Course In Journalism & Mass Communication

Kolkata: Admission window has been opened by the Jadavpur University for its master’s programme in Journalism and Mass Communication for the academic session 2021-22. The deadline to submit online applications is September 15.

The university’s journalism and mass communication department has created a helpdesk to resolve students’ queries.

Eligibility criteria:

Candidates should possess a 3-year bachelor’s degree in any stream from any university/institute recognised by the UGC with at least 50% marks (45% for PD/OBC-A/OBC-B category and 40% for SC/ST category) in honours/major papers.

As far a selection criteria are concerned, equal weightage to of marks obtained in honours/major papers and group discussion and the marks obtained in Higher Secondary/ equivalent exam to determine merit position who get same score in provisional merit list.

The varsity is yet to announce the dates for the group discussion round. “The group discussion will be held virtually on Google Meet.  Questions will be asked on areas covering general knowledge, current affairs, fundamental knowledge of media and communication, advertising, public relations, digital media etc,” a students’ representative working on the helpdesk, Riyanka Roy was quoted as saying by ABP Education.
