Jharkhand Allows Public Transport, Odisha Lifts Lockdown For JEE-NEET Aspirants
Ranchi: Given JEE-NEET exams being held across the country as scheduled, the Jharkhand government has allowed public transport within the state to ensure students’ hassle-free commute to the exam centres.
Jharkhand has also allowed reopening of hotels, lodges and restaurants, while giving nod to public vehicles to ply on state roads for a month till September 30, The Indian Express reported.
Unlock 4.0 relaxations were announced in a notification late on Friday night. Malls outside the containment zones will also be reopening soon after Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s green signal.
In a similar move, the Odisha government has lifted shutdown in seven cities where the JEE and NEET examinations will be held, an official said on Saturday.
Chief Secretary AK Tripathy on Friday announced that the state government will provide free transport and accommodation to students appearing for the JEE (Mains) and NEET 2020.
