JNU Begins PG, ADOP Admissions For 2025-26 Academic Year

The online submission of application forms by students started on May 23 and will continue till 11:50 pm on June 16, 2025.

NEW DELHI: The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has started the admission process for its Postgraduate (PG) and Advanced Diploma of Proficiency (ADOP) programmes for the academic year 2025-26.

The online submission of application forms by students started on May 23 and will continue till 11:50 pm on June 16, 2025.

The application correction window will remain open from June 17 to 18, 2025, allowing candidates to rectify errors in submitted forms.

The university may release the first merit list on June 27, followed by the second list on July 5 and the third on July 14. The final date for admission and registration formalities has been set for August 14, 2025.

The university issued an official notification on May 23, inviting online applications from eligible candidates who have appeared for the CUET (PG) 2025 examination, the results of which were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 6.

The JNU has opened the application process for its upcoming admissions, with candidates invited to apply online via the official websites — jnuee.jnu.ac.in and jnu.ac.in.

Applicants need to log in using their NTA application number and date of birth to access the portal.

Key details such as intake capacity, eligibility conditions, and programme-specific requirements are available on the admission portals.

For candidates shortlisted through the merit list, physical verification will be held on July 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, and 29. An additional verification session is scheduled on August 13 and 14 for those selected in the final merit list.

The university may issue a final call for admission against vacant seats by August 8.

Panel for PhD entrance

Meanwhile, the JNU has formed a committee to explore the feasibility of conducting an in-house entrance exam for PhD admissions in Korean language, arts and aesthetics, and labour studies, university officials said.

This is likely to be a one-time measure as these subjects are not covered under the University Grants Commission’s (UGC’s) National Eligibility Test (NET), prompting the university to seek alternatives. Admissions for the three PhD programmes remain uncertain as the ongoing admission cycle ends on December 4, leaving prospective students anxious.
