JNU: Final-Year PhD Scholars Allowed To Return To Campus

New Delhi: The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has allowed final-year PhD students to return to the campus as part of the varsity’s eighth and ninth phases of reopening after COVID-19 closure.

The “9B students” (day-scholars), who have to submit their theses by June 30, have been allowed to enter the campus from Monday. PhD scholars residing in the hostels will be allowed to return from February 22, a notification said. PhD scholars, who are residing in the hostels, will be allowed to return from February 22, the notification said. The university, however, has permitted the reopening of the library and canteen immediately.

The campus gates B and C towards Saraswati Puram will also be opened for central school students and their parents during the school opening and closing times, the university notification was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Earlier, JNU had allowed fourth-semester students of M.Phil and M.Tech of the science school and special centre, as well as final semester MBA students, to return to campus in the seventh phase of reopening.
