Karnataka State Open University Develops Conferencing Platform Amid Zoom’s Privacy Issues
New Delhi: The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysore has developed its own video-conferencing platform ‘KSOU Connect’ amid privacy concerns with Zoom, a California based Video Communication company.
In its circular dated April 18, the Centre has also asked the universities and other institutions to stop using Zoom for video conferencing or online classes as it has been suspected with privacy and security threats.
The University earlier developed, ‘KSOU-Student App’ which is available on Google Play Store and the university’s website.
The app connects both the students and teachers with features such as notifications, admit card download, self-learning materials, assignment materials, question bank access, results update, online admission, and fee payment, among others.
