Kolkata: Don Bosco School here has turned a section of the school premises into a COVID care facility.
The new medical facility houses 30 beds and supports people who could not find hospital beds and are also unable to afford expensive treatment.
According to School principal Fr. Bikash Mondal, more schools should come forward to volunteer space for facilities like these in COVID situation, reported ABP Education.
The school administration and alumni have joined hands to carry out this initiative. Dr Atanu Saha from the city-based Rabindranath Tagore Institute of Medical Sciences is in charge of a team of doctors and healthcare workers at the facility.
The service costs Rs 2,900-3,000 per bed, including medicines and a round-the-clock oxygen supply. This facility can be availed by patients who are moderately ill.
