Literary & Arts Fest ‘Vishwa Rang’ In Bhopal From Nov 7
“Vishwa Rang”, the first edition of the Tagore International Literature and Arts Festival, will be held in Bhopal from November 07 to 10, 2019.
The event is being organised by the Tagore International Centre for Arts and Culture of Bhopal-based Rabindranath Tagore University and AISECT Group of universities.
Vishwa Rang 2019 aims to provide a platform for ideological dialogue and cultural interplay. The event will be spread over 60 sessions, which will feature discussions, celebration and discourse on many subjects including literature, culture, education, cinema, journalism and environment.
According to reports, it will be the first world-class literary and arts festival to be organised by an educational institution of India. The meet will celebrate the essence of arts and literature in Hindi and other Indian languages and witness coming together of over 500 artists and authors from over 30 nationalities.

The event will also include three days of a retrospective on Tagore, focusing on his poetry, paintings, stories and plays.
“I strongly believe that science and technology and art and culture are equally important if we have to develop our nation’s youth into well-rounded human beings. Therefore, the Tagore International Centre was created with Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU) as an interdisciplinary centre that could look into arts, music, culture, theatre, drama and films and cut across various genres for the benefit of the students and the general public at large,” said Santosh Choubey, Director of Tagore International Literature Art Festival and RNTU’s Chancellor.
Some of the eminent personalities participating in the festival are, Bangladeshi poet and essayist Mozid Mahmud, South African actress, writer and performance poet Lebogang Mashile, Russian poet, essayist, cultural activist and anthropologist Igor Sid and Burmese Poet and translator Ko Ko Thett.
Key Indian literary guests will include Raghuveer Chaudhuri (Jnanpith and Sahitya Academi awardee), Vishwanath Tripathi (Vyas Samman and Moortidevi awardee), Padma Shri Surjit Patar (Sahitya Academi and Saraswati Samman awardee), Chitra Mudgal (Sahitya Academi and Vyas Samman awardee) and C Radhakrishnan (Moortidevi awardee).
Renowned actor Asutosh Rana, poet and lyricist Irshad Kamil and Raghu Dixit, the lead singer of popular multilingual music band Raghu Dixit Project will also attend the Festival.
