Madhya Pradesh To Conduct ‘Open Book’ Exams For Final Year Varsity Students In September

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday announced that the final year university examinations will be conducted through an ‘open book’ mode in September. The examinations will be conducted for final-year graduation and post-graduation students. The students will be required to appear for the exams from their homes following the Union Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus, took to Twitter to announce the government’s decision. He tweeted, “My children, you should be the future of Madhya Pradesh and the country. Looking at your health and bright future, I have made specific arrangements for your exams. Now you can get a degree by taking the exam by staying at your home. My blessings and best wishes are with you.”

A total of 5.71 lakh students will be appearing for their final year graduation and post-graduation fourth-semester examinations this year. “After writing the exams, students will have to submit their answer sheets at collection centres. These centres will be set up across the state in large numbers. Moreover, the students can also submit their answer sheets by post or email,” an official was quoted as saying by PTI, as reported by The Times Now News.

Open book examination is one where the students can seek help from any resource of their choice to write their answer sheets.
